What is vas
Alarm systems principal purpose is to save human life. A fire alarm system will detect the site of fire, and will sound alarms, but lifes will only be saved if people are evacuated from the danger zone efficiently and rapidly. VAS, the public address and evacuation management system, has been designed with the result in mind.People aren’t emotionally stable during an emergency, and need clear commands. That is why there’s a need for a system that automatically detects the set of the fire, chooses optimal evacuation routes, opens additional fire exits and informs people about the direction of move.
Nowadays the most of the public address and evacuation control systems are Windows-based. Being bloated and vulnerable, they are prone to instability and faults during the emergency situations.VAS is a reliable intelligent system that doesn’t use Windows. That is why VAS system may become an ideal technical solution for your deployment.

VAS core control device, called VAS Control Unit, is available in 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 alarm zones versions. So, 4-zones unit is designed for use in smaller edifices and the 32-zones version suits the largest installations. Other VAS devices are also available in multiple configurations that correspond to the target system size and it’s requirements.
VAS Control Unit can be employed to build two main types of systems: Local VAS and Global VAS.
Local VAS system operates in conjunction with a fire alarm system connected to multiple fire and smoke sensors. In case of fire, the respective sensor alerts the fire alarm system, which determines the affected floor number. Upon receiption of a command signal, VAS Control Unit activates recorded voice alarm message, sends it to speakers, and turns on warning lights, all in accordance to pre-established PA algorithm.
Global VAS allows managing multiple territorially distributed Local VAS systems from a central control room. Local VAS system installations at particular locations can be connected to the Global VAS Central Station via Internet or leased line (or a satellite link if necessary). Central Stationoperator can send voice alarms to speakers managed by a Local VAS system at a particular location or locations.
